EAST LEPPINGTON PRECINCT MASTERPLAN

Description

The East Leppington Precinct (760ha) is located within the Camden, Campbelltown and Liverpool Local Government Areas in Sydney’s South West Growth Centre.

Much of the Precinct is in single ownership and rural use and incorporates lands associated with the Campbelltown ‘Scenic Hills’ and remnants of the 1840’s Leppington House with its cultural heritage landscape.

Precinct planning of the site provides for over 4,000 dwellings and some 14,000 new residents.

The Precinct will include a mix of residential densities, responding to amenity and site constraints, a shopping centre, local parks and a new primary school.

The Precinct Masterplanning included the retention and enhancement of the Leppington House remains within parklands and protection of significant historic tree rows associated with the Estate entry.  Detailed visual analysis was undertaken and embedded into planning controls to preserve the character of the ‘Scenic Hills’ and the major ridgeline within the Precinct.
