Prepare a Masterplan together with a Conservation Management Plan Review for the adaptive re-use of some 40 retained historic buildings.
The former Kenmore Psychiatric Hospital site was the first purpose built complex for mental health care in rural NSW and was designed in the late 19th Century by the Government Architect, W. L. Vernon.
The study examined the conservation significance of built and landscape elements, the potential associated with the adaptive re-use of historic structures, as well as establishing a framework for new mixed-use development.
The approval of the Masterplan in 2012 led to the preparation of a high level Feasibility Study to inform future investors of the site’s development potential.
Today, the former Hospital is being progressively upgraded with development approvals for the refurbishment of various historic buildings and new subdivisions.
