2020 End of Year Wrap Up

Despite the challenges of 2020, it has been a successful year for LFA.

In urban design, we’ve continued our work in the revitalisation of urban centres, with the public exhibition of Beverly Hills Town Centre Master Plan and having assisted Canterbury Bankstown Council review seven local centres and associated setback and design controls. In terms of campus master planning, we were pleased to be retained by NSW Health Infrastructure (as part of the Jacobs team) to progress our pre-planning phase ideas to Stage 1 Redevelopment of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Our work in heritage master planning has continued with the further development and refinement of the master plan for the heritage-listed Kenmore Hospital site outside of Goulburn. And our precinct planning for new communities is set to continue in the new year as part of the NSW Government’s priority projects to be fast-tracked by the Planning Delivery Unit.

In planning, we reached a milestone with the submission of a Planning Proposal for 215ha of land masterplanned by LFA in Kingscliff. The proposal includes major open space and conservation areas; over 2,100 dwellings; town centre expansion; and tourist accommodation. Working collaboratively with landowners, we prepared an updated Structure Plan and

commenced preparation of a Planning Proposal for the 931ha West Wilton precinct in Sydney’s South West Growth Area. With Central Coast Council, we have continued work on the 85ha Jilliby Stage 2 rural residential rezoning. We’ve also been assisting the Western Parkland City Authority and Greater Sydney Commission on various exciting strategic planning and delivery-focused projects.

In architecture, we saw the completion of Rocky Point House in Killcare. The public exhibition of 117 Campbell Street Narooma marks the first of a number of residential projects that LFA has been engaged to design, document and secure planning approval for in the South Coast. We are also pleased to see that construction is well underway for Oriel apartments.

This year we have also welcomed Jason Duda and Carla Mamaril as company Directors, who will continue to collaborate with clients and consultants and build on the company’s strengths.
