The Premier’s announcement last week of Tranche 2 of the Planning System Acceleration Program is welcome news. It includes two fast-tracked Planning Proposals to facilitate the urban renewal of Villawood and Fairfield Heights Town Centres, which have been informed by LFA’s work.
Prepared in collaboration with Helen Deegan and Sonny Embleton of City Plan Services, our urban design studies for Villawood and Fairfield Heights set a vision and urban framework for attracting more investment, providing more
housing, improving access and connectivity, and creating opportunities for more generous and inclusive public domain within Villawood and Fairfield Heights.
The determination of the Planning Proposals will see a jobs boost in the order of 653 for Villawood and 348 for Fairfield Heights.
We are pleased to see that our work is not only paving the way for progressive city making, but also playing a part in driving NSW’s economic recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
